The research progress of “a solar cell textile integrated in a fabric” by HS Peng’s group was specially reported by the Journal

Prof. Huisheng Peng Group developed a new and general method to produce dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) textiles, which could be easily integrated into various fabrics or other flexible structures (Fig. 1), by the stacking of two textile electrodes. This work provided a general method for the development of wearable energy electronic devices. The latest study was published online in the international authoritative chemistry journal Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ange.201402561/abstract). This article was awarded as “Hot Paper”. At the same time, a special press release by “Wearable Solar Cells” was issued in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/(ISSN)1521-3773/homepage/press/201418press.html). Peng’s Group obtained this special honor again since a special press release provided by Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. on the stretchable wire-shaped electrochemical supercapacitor in December 2013.

On May 30, 2014, a special press release of this study by “Weaving solar energy into fabrics” (http://www.sciencemag.org/content/344/6187/twil.full#compilation-1-3-article-title-1) was further provided by the journal Science and several academic and public media followed, too.
