The Public Instruments Center (PIC), established in 1998, is attached to the Department of Macromolecular Science and the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Engineering of Polymers (MEP) in Fudan University. The facilities in PIC are open to all researchers inside and outside of Fudan University, and provide customer-required test and characterization such as failure analysis, quality evaluation and other scientific investigation. 

The PIC possesses a variety of advanced analytical instruments for test or measurement of optical spectrum, mass spectrum, chromatography, microscope, physical properties and polymer materials processing equipment with a total value of over 100 million in RMB. There are 14 full-time technicians responsible for the training, maintenance, testing and characterization, etc.
