As invited by Macromolecule Science Dept. and Chemistry Dept. , Dr. Peter Goelitz, Editor-in-Chief of Angewwandte Chemie and Dr. Eva Wille, Vice President of Wiley-VCH Press presented an impressive lecture for us in 103 Lecture Hall, East Sub-Tower, Guanghua Bldg. in the afternoon on October 13, 2014. After the lecture, Mr. Peter Goelitz and Mrs. Eva Wille were also invited to participate in the workshop in chemistry field at 208 Meeting Room, Yuanchengying Building, discussing specific research topics with teachers from the two departments.

During the lecture, Dr. Peter Goelitz first briefly introduced the history and influence of Angewwandte Chemie, he emphasized the growing number of high-quality papers submitted by Chinese researchers in recent decades (less than 200 papers in 2001; about 3500 papers in 2013). Mr. Peter Goelitz attributed the success of Angewwandte Chemie to active paper contributors, editor team of the Journal and constant innovation that they always proposed. At last, Mr. Peter hoped that Chinese researchers keep on working hard and produce high-quality papers energetically, making more contributions and achievements for the world.

Thereafter, Dr. Eva Wille introduced the ACES（Asian Chemical Editorial Society）and its subordinate magazines like Chemistry-An Asian Journal（CAJ）、Asian Journal of Organic Chemistry（AJOC）etc., getting participants to have a better understanding about how ACES established, its working teams and the communication history between ACES and Chinese researchers etc.
